It just slides up and down when I want it to. So, if I’m sitting doing some work on projects, I can bring the light levels up to see better. And when it comes to dining I can bring it back down to create that nice dining globe, and as mentioned everybody loves the dimming effect. Saving on electricity is an additional benefit to having a built-in dimmer.
